CMMI - EXTRA MASTER's on-line classes

With the projected growth of the Maritime Industry in India, one of the changes that can be foreseen over the next few years is the requirement of higher level of qualifications amongst maritime professionals. Having a ‘good’ qualification reflects one's professional pride and provides one with the competitive edge to stand out in the field. Master Mariners would benefit by acquiring higher professional qualifications to take advantage of career opportunities. The Extra Master’s qualification can be that 'ticket' to success, whether being in service on board or being engaged in a shore organization. With this in mind and much more, CMMI has been conducting preparatory programmes for the Extra Master's exams since 2019. CMMI is now pleased to announce the commencement of the next cycle of the EXTRA MASTER's Part-"B” on-line programme.

The EM Part B programme will commence on Saturday 13th July, 2024 and conclude on Sunday, 29th September, 2024.

Exams for EM Part B will be conducted by MMD Mumbai in the first week of October, 2024.

For information : The EXTRA MASTER's qualification consists of four Parts: Part A, Part B, Part C are written papers and Part D is the Dissertation. Examinations shall be conducted by the D. G. Shipping (currently only at MMD Mumbai). Candidates may appear for the Written Exam (Parts A, B & C) in any order, and a 'Pass' in any Part has all-time validity. As per D.G.Shipping guidelines, currently, only the candidates holding an Indian Master (FG) CoC are eligible for this qualification. The sub-modules of 'Part B' are as follows:

Online Contact classes addressing the above module, totalling to about 120 hours, will be conducted by eminent academicians and practitioners in the respective fields. In addition, Faculty may include assignments and internal assessments as may be appropriate. Class timings will be from 1000 to 1700 Hrs (IST) on Saturdays and Sundays. Additional classes may be scheduled on weekday evenings if required.

All course material, references, classroom and training videos shall be made available to the registered candidates on http://www.extramasters.com ; using a unique login ID. (No hard copies shall be provided).
